1 June , China , Yuvsatta : When the 27 member youth peace delegation from Chandigarh, representing Yuvsatta & Friend’s of China Association started their journey for China, they never expected that they’ll be received with so much warmth and hospitality in the neighbouring country. The reception and dinner before departure at the Embassy of People’s Republic of China was just an appetizer, but more was in offing in the shape of first dinner in China hosted by Ms. Luan, Dy. Secretary General of China India Friendship Association in Beijing in a almost state banquet kind of arrangements at Chinese People’s Association of Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) Headquarters in the heart of Beijing near Tian’ammen square.
Ms. Luan studied and worked abroad in very high positions told participants about their organization, major programmes and how we the two big nations of the world, whose total population is almost equal to one-third of the world’s population, can march together towards sustainable peace and progress with spirit of fraternity. They had recently organized a big function in Beijing to mark the 150th anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and it’s high time that we also start thinking of something for spreading the thoughts of Confucius.
The seamless system at Beijing airport, clean and green city with landscape that can beat any other modern city, hundreds of sky scrapers amidst traditional style building, increasing vehicles giving space to bicycles in between, everybody following rule book to the core shows why China is growing so rapidly.
Ms. Lily a young girl with lot of enthusiasm to serve people and make guests comfortable received the delegates at Airport and on the way to Beijing Shenghao Business Hotel where we’re staying in the middle of the city, explained about important buildings, monuments, geographical profile, population & growing economy of the place.
The hosts of the trip CPAFFC is a very big organization with around 57 years of history of initiatives to reach out to the people around the world with offers and programmes of friendship. As a result they can boast of their strong association with over 500 NGO’s in over 158 countries and we at Yuvsatta feels proud to be one of them.
Last year a 30 member youth delegation of CPAFFC led by Ms. Lily came for the first time to Chandigarh to participate in the Peace Fest-2010 and again this year another 30 will be coming with Lily, majority of them from coastal Industrial town of Tianjin, where we’re going on June 4th by a high speed bullet train. Today the day is reserved to see the Great Wall of China-one of the Seven Wonders of the World and Summer Palace, so wait for next update.
