Posted By Avnish Jolly,Canada : Sat Shri Akal, We are here because we want Integration – Kumar Hemant Sinha utter these words when he first met me.
In KNOW THE COUNTARY he said I am from the Land of Lord Budha, Lord Mahavira and Dasham Pita Guru Gobind Singh Ji. BIHAR – The word `Bihar’ is a distortion of the word `Vihar’ from Sanskrit, which means, ( a ) wander, and ( b ) a Buddhist monastery. Both these meanings are appropriate because ( a ) Lord Mahavira and many other Jain Tirthankars, and also Lord Buddha, wandered around this land, and ( b ) It had numerous Buddhist monasteries and was the Centre of Buddhism , even King Janaka and his daughter, Devi Sita were from this Land of Peace. There is land on both sides of the Ganges in India which occupies the same place for people belonging to Christianity, Islam and Judaism also. Great philosophers, sages, kings, and the knowers of Truth and wisdom lived here.
Children received firsthand information about India in NIC camps. Framework Follow-up Mechanism shared with them on this stage of development in the youth to introduce them to peace education and tools to share their convictions for their holistic development. The youth motivated in these camps promises greater outcomes in their respective felids. For most children, it was their first direct overview with the vast cultural wealth and heritage of our country. As part of the key results of the Camps, the young Integration ambassadors create a cohesive team of friends who share the same conviction: and work for Mother Land.
We lost Kumar Hemant Sinha who had fought with courage his battle with Pancreatic and Liver cancer this morning. Hemant started his journey with NBS in the late 80s representing Patna (Bihar) and contributed a lot at state and national level to achieve aims and objectives of NBS. He was presently working in Mumbai. Our heartfelt condolences are with Hemant’s little son & wife, brothers Sharat & Shishir, Sister and the entire Sinha family.
He shared on FB ”Dear All, Need ur best wishes as I am going for major surgery of Pancreas n Liver on 26th April at Kokilaben Hospital”
According to The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) that 1.5 million lives which would be lost to cancer, could be saved per year if decisive measures are taken to achieve the World Health Organization’s (WHO) ‘25 by 25’ target; to reduce premature deaths due to non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by 25% by 2025.
Presently, 7.6 million people die from cancer worldwide every year, out of which, 4 million people die prematurely (aged 30 to 69 years). So unless urgent action is taken to raise awareness about the disease and to develop practical strategies to address cancer, by 2025, this is projected to increase an alarming 6 million premature cancer deaths every year.
Dr. Christopher Wild, Director of IARC stressed that there is now a need for a global commitment to help drive advancements in policy and encourage implementation of comprehensive National Cancer Control Plans. If we are to succeed in this, we have a collective responsibility to support low- and middle-income countries who are tackling a cancer epidemic with insufficient resources.
Every year in India, around one million new cancer cases are diagnosed and around 600,000 to 700,000 people die from cancer in India, with this death toll projected to rise to around 1.2 million deaths per year by 2035, a new report on cancer care in India published in The Lancet Oncology reported.
I request fellow NBS comrades to initiate Cancer Awareness’ movement in their respective neighbourhood to support this issue and invite public to support the People Living With Cancer as tribute to – Kumar Hemant Sinha.

Truth resides in every human heart, and one has to search for it there, and to be guided by truth as one sees it. But no one has a right to coerce others to act according to his own view of truth. – Mohandas Gandhi
