Toronto, Canada: ASHA JYOTI Community Welfare Society of Canada – Non-Profit Organization organized Holi festival and Prise distribution function at Royal Banquet Hall. ASHA JYOTI was formed about twenty three years ago with the objective of supporting under privilege kids in India to get education from grade six to grade twelve, Asha Joti is also actively involved for the advocacy Rights of these children. This event was sponsored by Avadh Law Office and Orooj Financial & Insurance. It was a fun and full of colours and musical entertainment with traditional Holi food event to bring awareness in community about Asha Jyoti activities and inviting more to join and help for the noble cause. Mr. Harjit Jaswal nominated candidate of Conservative Party for Bramelea-Gore-Malton riding, Ms. Sudha Verma -Zone Chair of Lions Club International and Mr. Anup Srivastava, Barrister and Solicitor and Social worker were among others who attended this prestigious function of East India..
While inaugurating this function Mr. Naresh Handam President Asha Joti highlighted aim and objectives of the organisation. He also informed that since it’s inception, Asha Jyoti has supported around 2700 under privilege kids to get education.
On this occasion Mr. Anup Srivastava, Barrister and Solicitor and Eminent Social worker actively working for peace and child rights since 1983 also recalled that today is also eve of martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru , he stressed upon the youth to shun their self centered outlook, contribute in the development made a call to the community to come forward and be a part of this noble cause. He also stressed that we shall remember the martyrs for all the sacrifices given by them and their role in the freedom struggle of India to make our Holi more colorful and meaningful, while giving away the prizes to the participants recalls quote of Bhagat Singh – The sanctity of law can be maintained only so long as it is the expression of the will of the people
