INDIANAPOLIS, SEPT 13 : Former Rajasthan Ranji Trophy player Prasenjit Singh played a skipper’s knock of unbeaten 161 to steer Cricket Club of Indianapolis (CCI) into semi-final of the 2013 Midwest Cricket Tournament here. Former India U-19 player Prasenjit Singh is playing his first full season in the United States.
In the quarter- final match CCI defeated Everest Cricket Club of Columbus, Ohio (one of the League’s oldest cricket clubs ) by 57 runs. Prasenjit Singh continued his season’s brilliant form with an unbeaten 161 not out . The CCI skipper and opener faced 108 deliveries in the 35-over match and carried his bat through the innings. His undefeated innings was studded with 19 hits to the fence and three soaring sixes.
So far this season Prasanjit Singh has scored 816 total runs which includes four centuries (two of them 150+ scores) and 5 half centuries with an average of 116.57 . He leads 2013 MCT in most runs scored, highest score in inning and number of centuries scored categories.
The other opener Hari Joshi contributed a valuable 90 as Cricket Club of Indianapolis piled up an impressive total of 310 for 4 in stipulated 35 overs after winnings the toss. He is also ranked second among most runs scored in the league, with two three-figure marks and one half century.
Bala Krishnamurthy made a 34-ball unbeaten 40 which included four fours and one six.
For Everest Cricket Club of Columbus, Puneet Arya (2 for 32) and Mayank Goel (2 for 60) were the main wicket-takers.
In reply, Everest Cricket Club of Columbus could muster 253 for 5 in 35 overs.Prashanth Venumunddala (69, 52 balls, retired hurt), Fahad Khan 60, 58 balls, retired hurt) and Ahmed Khan (41) were the main scorers for them.
Moshin Kapadia (3 for 35) and Ranjeet Singh (2 for 40) were the wicket-takers for CCI.

ALL ROUND SHOW BY NISHIT DAVE: Columbus Indiana Cricket Team (CICC-2), another team from Indiana, also advanced to the semi- finals by beating Buckeya Cricket Club by one wicket and one ball to spare in quarter-final match. The highlight of the match was a fine all-round performance by Nishit Dave (46 not out and 2 for 40) of Columbus Indiana Cricket Club-2 who was adjudged the man of the match.
