Chandigarh, February 29 :Terming the Union Budget 2016 presented by Shri Arun Jaitley in the parliament today, as a welfare and a development oriented budget, for all sections of the society, State President of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab Shri Kamal Sharma has congratulated the Union Finance Minister, as well as Modi-led NDA government. Shri Sharma said that special provisions for poor, youth, women and farmers have been kept in the budget, which is a welcome step.
Giving his budget reaction, Shri Sharma said: “The biggest emphasis in the budget has been laid on agri sector and the welfare of the farmers, for which several announcements have been made. The augmentation of the irrigation capacity through setting up of 5 lakh water reservoir (Talab) would prove to be a milestone in giving a push to farming sector.” He also said that a roadmap has been prepared for ensuing that income of the farmers be doubled. Shri Sharma said that interests of the poor has also been taken care off in the budget.
Shri Sharma asserted: “The budget of MGNREGA has been enhanced that would help poor getting employment, as well as LPG. The health insurance scheme would take care of the medical issues of the poor.” The BJP president also said that for encouraging medium sector industry, a Stand-up India Plan has been implemented. He also said that the special focus has been laid on the skill development of the youth so that the youth can earn their livelihood in a good way.
