CHANDIGARH, SEPT 23 : Somdev Devvarman made it to the main draw of the $ 875,500 Malaysian Open ATP Tour Tennis Tournament being played at the 7,000-seat Putra Stadium in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) today. In the final singles qualifying round Somdev Devvarman defeated Jean-Julien Rojer in two well-contested sets 7-5, 7-5.
In the main draw, Somdev has been drawn to meet another qualifier Matteo Viola of Italy.
Wild card Yuki Bhambariof India and Syed Mohd Agil Syed Naguib of Malaysia will meet second seeded Julien Benneteau (France) and Nenad Zimonjic (Serbia) in doubles first round.
BHUPATHI-ROBERT TOPSEEDED IN DOUBLES: Mahesh Bhupathi of India is partnering Lindstedt Robert of Sweden and are top seeded in the doubles of the $567,530 Thailand Open in Bangkok. They have been drawn to face Daniel Gimeno-Traver (Spain) and Paolo Lorenzi (Italy) in the doubles first round match.
Indian pair of Purav Raja and Divij Sharan will face Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah (Colombia) in another first round match in doubles.
