New Delhi: Samarjit Singh won gold medal in sports pistol junior men’s event on the concluding day of the competition at Meeting of Shooting Hopes. With this win, Indian shooters won four individual gold medals. Of the four, pistol shooter Shreya Gawande claimed two individual gold medals.
Samarjit Singh with his consistent performance got the gold medal. He shot 577/600. During precision he scored 288 and in dueling he shot 289, which was enough for him to win the gold medal.
In the same event, the team of Samarjit Singh (577), Vishwajit Singh (563) and Neeraj Kumar (561) won the silver medal (aggregate 1712). The team gold went to Poland with an aggregate score of 1712 and bronze went to Switzerland with a total score of 1689.
