National Capacity Development Workshop for District Level Managers on Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) Planning was inaugurated at School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh by Prof. Yogesh Chawla, Director PGIMER. In his opening remarks he mentioned that we all need to work together to achieve the Millennium Development Goals. He emphasized on evidence based approach and strategies for achieving health goals. Dr. Arun Aggarwal gave a brief overview of the workshop stating that the objective of the workshop is to build capacity of district level program managers to plan and effectively implement health programs to respond to the people’s health needs and achieving millennium development goals. A total of 30 participants from the states of Assam, Haryana, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh and Odisha are participating in this workshop. It is a ten day residential workshop. Dr Rajesh Kumar, Head of the department, School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh briefed about the contributions of School of Public Health in the national programs while briefing the participants on expected outcome of the workshop.
