CHANDIGARH, AUG 7 : Moga defeated Amritsar by 122 runs in the Punjab Under-19 Women Inter-Academy Cricket Tournament at Moga today.
Amritsar won the toss and elected to field. Moga scored 201 for 7 in the allotted 50 overs. The main contributors with the bat were Kamaljeet Kaur (51 not out, 10x4s), Sukhraj Kaur (49, 5x4s, 2x5s) and Amarpal Kaur (37, 6x4s). Neelam (3 for 40) and Neha (2 for 26) were the main wicket takers for Amritsar.
Replying, Amritsar were bundled out for 79 in 33.5 overs. Neelam (15), Neha (13) and Priyanka (11) were the main scorers for Amritsar while Roshna Bai (3 for 17), Monika Rani (2 for 14), Amarpal Kaur (2 for 12) and Nirmal Kaur (2 for 17) were the most successful bowlers for Moga.
With this win Moga bagged 5 points including a bonus while Amritsar bagged (-01).
In the second match played at Blooming Buds School in Moga, Chandigarh routed Combined U-19 XI -19 by 10 wickets to garner 5 points including a bonus.
Winning the toss Chandigarh U-19 opted to field. Combined U-19 XI were bowled out for 39 in 20 overs with 17 extras being the highest. Non of the Combined U-19 players got into the double figures.
Priyanka Guleria (4 for 10), Rajni Devi (3 for 5) and Monika Pandey (2 for 9) were the most successful bowlers for Chandigarh.
