CHANDIGARH, JUNE 12 : MCM Blue Caps of Sector 36 emerged winners by 21 runs against Sri Sri Academy of Panchkula in the final of the Under-10 Cricket Academy Cricket Tournament for St Stephen’s Trophy organised by Desh Prem Azad Cricket Academy at the MCM DAV College ground in Sector 36 here today.
Based in Sector 7 DC Model School, Sri Sri Academy won the toss and invited MCM Blue Caps to bat first. MCM Blue Caps posted 129 for 6 in stipulated 20 overs. Mayank Sidhu was the top scorer with a polished knock of 43. Karan Sood made 23. Aasees Mann and Manu Malhotra contribued an identical score of 17 runs.
Sri Sri Academy medium pacer Hardik Bhanot was the most successful bowler by taking three wickets for 18 runs. Anirudh took 2 for 7.
Facing a target of 130 for triumph, Sri Sri Academy were dismissed for 108 in 20 overs. All rounder Hardik Bhanot made 21 while 15 runs were contributed by Prunkit.
Tushar was the wrecker-in-chief of Sri Sri Academy as he sent back four batsmen for while giving away 20 runs. Rakshad captured three wickets for 25 runs. Anmol got two wickets for 14 runs.
