The third tournament of the “Junior Golf Mission 2016” was played at the Chandigarh Golf Club on 20th December. A total of 55 participants teed off on a cold and windy day battling it out on a gross score format for numerous trophies and prizes. In Category D, in which juniors played only 9 holes, Ekamveer Singh Guron was runners-up with a score of 47 while in the same category Adil bedi was the winner with a score of 44. In category C, Jaiveer Singh Sandhu finished runners-up with a score of 88 whereas Karandeep Kochhar came first in the same category with a score of 85. In Category B, Ikrabdeep S Ghai came second runners-up with a score of 83, Feroz Singh Grewal runners-up with a score of 82 and Jairaj Singh Sandhu took the pole position in this category with a score of 78. In Category A, Angad Aulakh with a score of 96 came second runner-up, Prabhdeep S Ghai runners-up with a score of 93 and Tarundeep Chadha won this category by shooting a score of 78. President of Chandigarh Golf Club BS Gill gave away the prizes to the winners and said “we are very happy to see a good response to all the three junior tournaments that we have conducted so far. Our prime focus remains the 2016 Olympics for which we hope to produce a champion from our club. The first EGTF Junior Golf Coaching Programme of 2011 will commence at the Chandigarh Golf Club on 19th March”. Capt. GS Ghuman, Chairman Tournaments added “two more junior tournaments will be conducted over the next three months. Suggestions from parents to improve these tournaments further are welcome”. Ajay Gujral, Joint Director of the Chandigarh Golf Club Academy said “be it tournaments or junior coaching programmes, I am extremely happy to see the commitment of the entire management committee of Chandigarh Golf Club towards promotion of junior golf”.
