Adare Manor, Ireland, May 16, 2008: India’s Jeev Milkha Singh shot a blistering six under 66 at The Adare Manor Irish Open on Thursday to lead the field along with Australia’s Richard Green. Jeev’s compatriot SSP Chowrasia was close on his heels as he ended day one at three under 69 in tied seventh position.
PGTI member Jeev Milkha Singh came up with five consecutive pars after teeing-off from the 10th. He then sank back-to-back birdies on the 15th and 16th to make the turn at two under. On the front nine, Jeev birdied the first and fifth before making an amazing eagle on the par five seventh.
SSP Chowrasia birdied the 11th, sixth and seventh in his round of bogey-free 69.
Shiv Kapur’s even par 72 helped him finish round one in tied 30th place. Kapur birdied the seventh, ninth and 13th and bogeyed the second, 12th and 17th.
Jyoti Randhawa fired four over 76 in the first round to be tied 95th. Randhawa made five bogeys and a lone birdie on the fifth.
