15 June:An Indian businessman has donated a whopping USD11 million to his alma mater in New York which had offered him fellowship 35 years ago when he had no money to pursue his doctoral studies.
John P. Kapoor’s latest gift of gratitude to University of Buffalo is USD five million to help construct a new home for the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, making him the institution’s top individual donor.
"I owe so much to this university," said Kapoor, who earned a doctorate in medicinal chemistry from the University in 1972."Fortunately, I’m in a position to help, and the university is on the top of my list," he was quoted as saying by Buffalonews.com.
Kapoor, now a skilled entrepreneur in the pharmaceutical industry, had graduated from college in India, it said. Courtsey: DD NEWS
