New Delhi:Rohan Rana, from Category ‘A’ Boys displayed a consistent performance at the end of round 1 with a score of 2 over 74. Rohan stitched together a string of 1 birdie on the front 9 and 3 birdies on the back 9 to emerge as a leader at the end of the day’s play. Rohan’s 4 bogeys and 1 double bogey did affect his Round 1 score adversely. Trailing behind by a single stroke was Shubham Narain with a score of 3 over 75. Shabnum had a bad play today with a card of 3 birdies and a lineup of 6 bogeys. Rohil Khan (76) and Alammgir Grewal (77) secured the 3rd and 4th positions respectively.
In Category ‘B’ Boys, Karan Pratap Singh sealed an even PAR victory at the end of Round 1 carding 4 birdies and 3 bogies. Trailing behind by 6 strokes was Sunhit Bishnoi who shared a joint 2nd position with Kshitij Naved Kaul. Aniket Singh (79) and Daksh Shokeen (80) stood at 3rd and 4th position respectively at the end of Round 1 of the Usha DGC Junior Golf Championship played at the Lodhi Course, New Delhi.
In the Category ‘C’ Boys, Aryaman Mahant emerged victorious with a card of 5 over 77. He scored a total of 3 birdies, 4 bogeys and 1 triple bogey at the end of Round 1, Day 1. Inspite of a bad play, comparative performances by other players in the category led him to win Round 1. Bharat Sharma and Manav Bais lied at a joint second position with a score of 6 over 78, closely trailed by Saurav Rathi (79) and Saivikrama Angrish (83) at the end of the Round 1.
The Round 2 tomorrow promises to be intriguing and highly competitive seeing the young guns raise a stiff fight against each other.
