Chandigarh, May 27, 2008: The Pro-Am event of Professional Golf Tour of India’s PGTI Players Championship at Chandigarh Golf Club provided amateur golfers from Chandigarh an opportunity to play alongside some of the top professional golfers in the country.
The Pro-Am event was played on a fourball team stableford format wherein the professional score was compulsory along with two best amateur scores out of three amateurs over 18 holes.
The event was won by PGTI member Gaurav Ghei’s team comprising of amateurs Mr. K S Sibia, Mr. R P S Siddhu and Brig. B S Bains. Their team total was 121 points.
In second place was PGTI member Harmeet Kahlon’s team with 116 points. The three amateurs who made up Kahlon’s team were Mr. C S R Reddy, Mr. T L Verma and Mr. Parminder Sehgal.
PGTI member A S Lehal’s team comprising of Mrs. Binny Bath and Capt. J S Brar finished second runners-up. Their team total was 115 points.
The prize for the closest shot to the pin was won by Mr. K S Brar whose shot landed three feet short of the pin on hole no. 8.
The prize for the longest drive was bagged by Mr. Randeep Singh Nabha who came up with a 295 yard drive on hole no. 18.
