The India Post, Chandigarh, 14th February, 2009 : First Mobile Painting Exhibition of Museum Outreach Activity Centre was flagged off by the UT Home Secretary, Mr. Ram Niwas at Government Museum and Art Gallery, Sector-10, here today. The Exhibition christened as ‘Woman-an epitome of Nature’ is depicting the art work of eminent artist of the region, Ms. Guneeta.
Paintings showcasing woman as an embodiment of environment, manifesting varied moods of woman as in Nature, co-existence of male and female and much more are being displayed in the mobile exhibition. The works exhibited in the exhibition are in close proximity with a woman’s journey of life reflecting unity, harmony and conflict. On the occasion, Mr. Niwas released broacher based on the exhibition and lauded the imaginative efforts of Ms. Guneeta for depicting the image of woman so beautifully.
The objective of the exhibition is to take art to the reach of common man. Exhibition will be on till February 20, 2009 and during the period it will cover all the schools, colleges, Sector-17 plaza, places of public interest and other venues of city beautiful.
The mobile exhibition is being organized by Government Museum and Art Gallery, Chandigarh, Punjab Virasat Charitable Trust, Chandigarh and Sankhyana Environment Foundation, Himachal Pradesh. Director-cum-Chairman, Outreach Activity Centre, Government Museum and Art Gallery, Mr. N.P.S. Randhawa was also present on the occasion.
