Dr. Avnish Jolly, 24th July, 2008:eINDIA 2008 the fourth edition of the annual event, will be held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from July 29-31, 2008. Visioned such that it addresses the growing need for a multi-stakeholder approach towards ICT for development, eINDIA will bring together people and organisations working in various domains, under seven thematic tracks, namely- eGov, digitalLearning, eHEALTH, eAgriculture, mSERVE, Indian Telecentre Forum and Municipal IT.
eINDIA2008 is being jointly organised by Centre for Science, Development and Media Studies and Elets Technomedia Pvt. Ltd., with the support of Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and IT, Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India and UN Global Alliance for ICT and Development.
The three-day event is expected to draw 100 exhibitors, 350 speakers and more than 4,000 high-level representatives from the ICT industry, the Government, the civil society, the academia and the private sector, from over 50 countries.
The list of eINDIA Speakers and Presenters will feature eminent personalities such as D Purandeswari, Minister of State for Higher Education, Government of India; Subash Pani, Secretary, Planning Commission, Government of India; Jainder Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of India among many others, who will discuss/ highlight a spectrum of ICT-related issues that concern the global community.
