Chandigarh, July 6, 2013 : The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) today organised a day long conference on e-filing today at Hotel Park Plaza which was well attended by the over400 delegates hailing from taxation fraternity. The objective of the conference was to introduce the latest developments on taxation aspects to the fraternity which eventually helps in their trade. Mr SK Satapathy, Chief Commissioner, Income Tax Department, Panchkula was the Chief Guest on the occasion who appreciated the role of CAs in nations building.
While inaugurating the conference, Mr. Krishan Kant Joshi, Chairman, ICAI, Chandigarh Chapter stressed that such event not only helps the CA professionals in their trade but also lend a great deal of support to the CA students who are all set for the making their mark in the corporate world.
Mr SK Sattepatty in his address emphasized that the income tax department has made a complete makeover and transparency in its conduct. “The department is ready to help the asessee and encourage them to pay taxes and to declared income without any harassment to any of the assessee. Income Tax department’s proceedings are very effective in the era of connectivity, RTI and advent of transparency. We at the department’s end and you at the CAs should rather encourage people to pay tax timely and generously which eventually helps in nation’s building and public welfare.
The event witnessed the series of of technical session in which resource persons dispense the thorough overview on the subjects. CA CV Sajan briefed the delegates about the changes in standards of Audit and e-filing while CA Rajeev Khandelwal enlightened on e-filing of Tax Audit Reports and recent amendments in Income Tax Returns and TDS.
Veteran CA ND Gupta introduce the audiences about Domestic Transfer Pricing while CA A Raju gave the deliberations on Real Estate sector with his subject “Exemptions Service Tax on Real Estate and Construction”.
