CHANDIGARH, MARCH 3 , DAV Club, Sector 8 outplayed Pr.AG (Audit) Punjab Chandigarh by 5-1 in Super League on fourth day of the Chandigarh Senior Men Football Championship being played at the Sector 17 Football Stadium here today.
Audit Punjab team consisting of senior national players started on an aggressive but failed to do any damage. The DAV boys started making counter attacks and earned a corner kick in the 10th minute which prove futile. DAV Club again made a dangerous move in the 12th minute, right winger Ajay collected a stray ball and ran towards rival dangerous area and passed the ball to Manish Mundri who took a rasping drive which went in to the A.G. Punjab goal post in spite of best efforts of their goal keeper.
Right winger Ajay was instrumental again in scoring their second goal for DAV Football Club in 21st minute with solo efforts. Encouraged by two goals DAV Club made many dangerous move to increase the tally. However Audit Punjab forwards made a dangerous move and were able to opened their account in 22nd minute when their right striker Sehajpal score with a rasping shot. First half score was 2-1 in favour of DAV Football Club.
After the lemon break the DAV Club boys added two more goals in 50th and 51st minutes through penalty kicks awarded to their team on the fouls committed by rival defense and the scorers were Manish Mundri and Meinam who took the penalty kicks. Rajeev Rattan reduced the margin in the 60th minute through a solo efforts. The DAV boys again scored the fifth goal in 69th minute and the scorer was Munish Mundri . DAV Club won the match by 5-1 goal and earned three valuable points.
In the second Super League match, Coaching Centre Sector 17 beat Blue Star Club by 4-0. The first half ended was goalless. Coaching Centre meant business from the kick off and mounted pressure time and again but failed to do any damage due to tight defence of their rivals.
On resumption of second half right striker Deepak Hooda of Coaching Centre opened the account for his team after dribbling passed two defenders and beat the rival goal keeper with a powerful shot in 50th minute. Elevated by this goal Coaching Centre boys added three more goals and the scorers were Deepak Hooda in 51st Minute , Saurav in 67th Minute and 4th goal also was scored by Deepak Hooda with solo efforts. Deepak Hooda failed to make it a hat trick. Coaching Centre , Sector 17, Chandigarh won the match 4-0 goals and earned 3 valuable points.
