Due to full preparedness against “swine flu”, no untoward situation has developed so far in the state. Constant watch is being made on “swine flu”. Instructions in this connection have been issued to all the Chief Medical & Health Officers.
So far, 24 suspected patients of swine flu have been found in the state including 23 C-Category patients. Information about another patient of this category was received on April 16. This patient is undergoing treatment at National Hospital, Bhopal. Due to timely treatment, all the patients with swine flu symptoms are now healthy. So far, only person has died of this disease.
Instructions in connection with prevention of swine flu have been issued to all the Chief Medical & Health Officers of the state. They have been instructed to alert all the doctors in each district. Suspicion index should be kept high for any flu case. Administration of oseltamivir (tamiflu) medicine should be started on apprehension of the disease. They have been instructed to exercise special care if children and pregnant catch this deadly disease. According to the instructions, Chief Medical & Health Officers have been asked to ensure adequate availability of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) mask, BTM and medicines. Instructions have been given to send samples of all the B and C Category patients for test. They have been instructed to pay special attention to the places from where more cases of case acute respiratory infection are reported.
