10 Oct : Cancer is a non-communicable, lifestyle related disease, supposed to be a dangerous disease and this is slowly spreading its roots in India. It is estimated that 10 lakh new patients are added to the existing no. of cancer patients in our country.
Cancer is believed to be a non-curable disease but the fact is far from it. About 60 % of cancer is completely curable if treated properly at an early stage. Unfortunately majority of Indian patients suffering from cancer come to a specialist at a very late stage when cure is not possible and only palliative treatments can be given to make the patient comfortable and pain free.
Cancer in majority of cases is not preventable but can be minimized to some extent by adopting healthy lifestyles and through awareness that will make people more cautious and conscious about their habits and its affect on their health. The key to fight Cancer is to get the diagnosis and start proper treatment.
Thus, Greater know –how is the safest bet against cancer.
