Chandigarh 28th November; The PGI Medical Technologists Association convey its sincere thanks to Prof. Yogesh Chawla, Director, PGI who has been kind enough to accept the suggestion of Association for streamlining and improving the Blood Collection Centre facilities and timings and OPD laboratory services. The longstanding demand of Association to shift laboratories to OPD was partially accepted when the Autoanalyser of Biochemistry was installed in New OPD last year.
The Blood Collection Centre timing has been increased to 12.30 p.m. from today, which were earlier from 8.30. a.m. to 11.30 a.m. It will help the patients to get their investigations done on the same day and the reports will also be provided by 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. The blood Glucose Fasting samples will now be accepted up to 11 a.m.
Prof. Yoegsh Chawla, Director has also agreed to shift Autoanalyser of Haematology from Research Block A to New OPD so that the investigations are done in New OPD and reports are also provided on the same day. The diagnostic services in Emergency Laboratories will also be strengthen and improved in the near future by shifting Autoanalyser of Haematolgy and by starting few new investigations like HIV, HBsAg, etc. as discussed with him in October, 2011. The Autoanalyser of Biochemistry was shifted in Emergency OPD about 1 and 1/2 year back.
MTA hopes that the better and mutual understanding between PGI management and workers will benefit the patient care services.
