CHANDIGARH, NOV 20 : Indians challenge ended in the first round itself as Ashmitha Easwaramurthi and Vishesh Vishnu made their exit in the singles competitions of the $ 10,000 Women’s Tennis Circuit at Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt) today.
Italian Giorgia Pinto prevailed over Ashmitha Easwaramurthi by 6-4 7-5 and Manisha Foster of Great Britain registered straight sets 6-1 6-2 victory against Vishesh Vishnu.
In the doubles, only Ashmitha Easwaramurthi moved ahead. Partering Russian Ekaterina Lavrikova, Ashmitha defeated Italian duo of Giada Clerici and Giulia Guidetti 6-4 6-1.
Tanisha Rohira and Czech Gabriela Horackova lost to topseeded Elena-Teodora Cadar (Rou) and Jasmin Steinherr (Ger) 2-6, 2-6. In another doubles match featuring Indian Shivani Manchanda and Polina Chala (Ukrain) were blanked by third seeded duo of Iryna Shymanovich (Blr) and Julia Wachaczyk (Ger) 6-0, 6-0.
