Chandigarh : Celebrated singer Anuradha Paudwal will be chief guest at a musical evening in the memory of legendary Bollywood singer Mukesh to mark his death anniversary on September 4 here at Tagore Theatre. She will also regale the music lovers by singing some Mukesh songs. Anuradha has re-sung many of the legendary singer’s songs besides accompanying his son Nitin Mukesh in playback singing as well as live concerts.
The musical evening is being organised by the Legendary Mukesh Musical Arts and Cultural Society (Regd) (LEMACS) that had organized a grand evening last year with music-director Anandji as chief guest. According to Mr. M.L. Singla, President of the Society, the special endeavour in the forthcoming event is to include songs by late music maestros who gave immortal songs.
The maestros include S.D. Burman, C. Ramachandar, Hemant Kumar, Madan Mohan, Shankar-Jaikishen, Jaidev and others. “We have also included songs by forgotten music director Ramlal who gave excellent musical score in a film called Sehara. Songs composed by him are still popular today. Our effort is to honour all those who lined our lives with great music.”
The singers for the evening, with the exception of Anuradha, will be amateurs and semi-professionals from Chandigarh and other cities of the region so as to provide a platform to upcoming musical talent. The music for the event will be conducted by well-known music director Rajinder Singh Commando and his group of musicians. The compere for the evening will be well-known radio anchor Jainendra.
