The Department of Pulmonary Medicine is holding its 26th Annual CME on 14th October, 2012 on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It is being attended by over 150 delegates from the region. Chronic respiratory disease is one of the priority non-communicable diseases which are responsible for the major burden on healthcare infrastructure all over the world. It accounts for about 7% of total deaths and 3% of loss of disability adjusted life years in India.
The CME will be addressed by Faculty members from different institutes in the region besides those from the PGIMER, Chandigarh.
Dr SK Jindal, Head, Dept. of Pulmonary Medicine, PGI, Chandigarh also informs that the Institute will hold its Golden Jubilee Alumni Meeting on December 15 & 16, 2012 when it expects a large number of alumni from over the world.
