15 May : Delhi Hosted yet another Evening of Short films, an event organized by FILMBOOTH – the film enthusiast group from Delhi. After hosting “FILMBOOTH 08 – Emerging Festival of Short Films, the event was an offshoot of the same. The team selected the Best of the short film of the festival and presented to the Delhi cine Lovers at the “Evening of Short Films held at OXFORD Book Store this Saturday.The evening was inaugurated by renowned Documentary Filmmaker from Delhi Mr. Amar Kanwar who apart from sharing his thoughts on Short Films, Showcased two movies from his kitty. Not only did the audience loved the insights but enjoyed the true lessons shared by the director on the art to the cinefans at the venue.
The short film- makers traditionally never had many takers for their films; however times have now changed and the gap is gradually disappearing with many new forums emerging just focused on short films. ForumForFilms (a community for short film makers) is one such platform which allows the users to upload their films and showcase it to large audiences over the web. It is the "YOU TUBE of short films" having films as short in duration as 30 seconds and being fictional and non documentary in style and character.
The evening also Showcased “Jump” – The best short film of the last years Festival this was well appreciated by the entire audience. With total of 18 films being screened in a span of 2 hours. Short – experimental – entertaining-cinema is their kind of cinema as quoted by Nagendra one of the founders of the Concept.
