Chandigarh : Kathak exponent actress Nandita Puri performed on the second day of Chandigarh Classical Dance Festival 2021 at Tagore Theatre on Friday.
Nandita commenced her recital with Ganga Stuti and shlokas of Shiv Tandav Stotra written by Ravan. Followed by a choreography on raag mala, a combination of four Ragas portraying different aspects of Shringar. She then presented pure Kathak in Dhamaar Taal that included todas, tukdas, laykari etc. She concluded her presentation with Durga Stuti.
Pt Kalinath Mishra on tabla, Vaibhav Mankad on vocals and harmonium along with Alka Gujar on sitar gave amazing contribution. “Being locked at our house I realised that one must value his life first. We learnt that our needs are quite less and we were wasting time in running after material things, it was good to be at home. And now I’m very happy to come to stage. Its like a New Year gift for us” said Nandita.
NZCC director Dr Saubhagya Vardhan, kathak exponent Anu Sinha, were also present among other senior artists. Earlier, Hindustani Classical Singer Vansh Prabhat from Bihar, presented a recital as part of the ongoing Navankur and Tarun Sangeet Mahotsav. The programe gives a platform to the young and upcoming artistes of the country.
