25 Dec : Sixty-eight militants wanted by Pakistani authorities on Thursday surrendered in the northwestern Mohmand tribal region ahead of a deadline for them to lay down arms.The militants, belonging to the Haleemzai tribe, surrendered to the political administration, a statement issued by the paramilitary Frontier Corps said, adding 310 "hardcore militants" had surrendered in the past two weeks.
Two top militant commanders have also turned themselves in to the political administration, the statement said.A large number of weapons were handed over to the authorities by the militants.
