Chandigarh, May 13 : A three day Yoga orientation programme for instructors has been started today at the Cricket Stadium in sector 16, Chandigarh from 6 am to 7 am.
Under the directions of Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, UT, Chandigarh certified approximately 450 yoga instructors and experts were imparted training according to the 45 minute yoga protocol chalked out by the Ministry of Ayush for the main event scheduled to be held on 21st June, 2016.
Today the training camp was conducted by Dr. Dinesh Brahmchari under the supervision of Sh. Amit Talwar, Additional Deputy Commissioner and other officers concerned.
The instructors who attended the session have been teaching yoga in schools, colleges and other institutes. The volunteer consists of yoga trainers from Patanjali Yogpeeth, Art of Living, Yoga Vidya Maha Mamiti, Brahmrishi Yoga training college etc.
After training, these yoga trainers would conduct workshops from May 21 for city residents throughout the city at approximately 200 designated places.
In addition to that the Deputy Commissioner held a review meeting of all the creative team members today during which the concerned members were asked to prepare catchy creative using different yoga postures according to 45 minutes yoga protocol.
The social media team has made a brief presentation regarding creating awareness among masses through facebook page, twitter, youtube, instragram and other useful mediums for promotion purpose. The Deputy Commissioner made it clear to the creative and social media teams to follow the yoga protocol strictly while preparing any kind of promotional material.
The yoga training camp of yoga trainers at Cricket Stadium, Sector 16, Chandigarh will be organized on 14th & 15th May, 2016 in the morning from 6.00 am to 7.00 am daily.
