Chandigarh, June 10 – Under Sports and Physical Aptitude Test (SPAT) programme, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Haryana will organize two Basic Water Sports Camps for selected sportspersons of the state at Regional Water Sports Institute, Pong Dam, Himachal Pradesh from July 1 to 28, 2011.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Sports and Youth Affairs Department said that Basic Water Sports Camps would be organized for selected 40 boys and an equal number of girls in the age group between 15 and 19 years from July 1 to 14 and from July 15 to 28 respectively. He said that selection of players for camps would be made by concerned District Sports and Youth Affairs Officer or Youth Club Officer as per prescribed norms.
Giving details of the eligibility, he said that participants should be SPAT players and mentally as well as physically fit. Also, they should be interested in adventure activities. They would have to bring together with them medical certificates and risk certificates. At district level, biodata of selected players should be filled up in prescribed proforma and forwarded in advance to the Directorate.
He said that apart from this, 10- day High Altitude Tracking Camp for trainees of residential sports nurseries in age group between 14 and 20 years would also be organized at Maclodganj in Himachal Pradesh. As many as 42 players have been selected for the camp in which 11 players each of residential nurseries for athletics, Bhiwani and Panchkula and 10 each of residential nurseries for hockey and Judo, Sirsa have been selected.
