PASIGHAT, Jan 7: The East Siang has been a big success stated the DC Talem Tapok while taking part in the first ever six day long Women’s Football Coaching Camp, organized by the East Siang District Women Football Association (ESDWFA) at the general ground Pasighat today.
Amidst in the colorful opening ceremony the Chief Guest Tapok said though it has traditionally been played almost entirely by men the state, women have equal courage, glory, dignity and power to play and enjoy football. He appreciated the Prez ESDWFA Christopher Tayeng and Vice President Akiri Moyong and Secretary Tabiram Moyong for organizing the camp to explore the hidden women talents of the district. He said sports activities help to develop physical fitness and personality and there are ample scopes to choose as career for women in sports secter in the state.
He advised organizer to spread good message to maintain sportsman spirit, peace and tranquility in the society. Earlier, the renowned leader Smty Nanom Jamoh who graced the occasion as Guest of Honour expressed her happiness and further said first time it was organized and be a part of it she had wonderful feeling and felt proud of the girl participants. Executive member (ESDWFA) Er. Nyong Paloh informed that three coaches namely Kop Yana, Tako Babi and Babia Mehu are being imparting the training under supervision of Lalrinsanga Ralte Prez WFAAP (Women Football Association of Arunachal Pradesh), Itanagar. Altogether 43 girls of East Siang are being trained to participate in the Inter district tourney scheduled to be held at Chalang on February next, added Paloh.
