By Vivek, Chandigarh, August 1: The four day match between Punjab and Vidarbha in the ongoing SHAFI DARASHAH Cricket Tournament at Mysore ended in a draw. Punjab logged three points while Vidarbha ended up with one point. Punjab second innings which ended on 199 runs this morning with the skipper southpaw Uday Kaul (62) and Gurinder Singh (30) doing the bulk of scoring. Punjab set a target of 303 runs in 78 overs for Vidarbha. Punjab had got a sizeable first innings lead of 102 runs. Vidarbha started their reply on a sedate note losing their first wicket for 35 in 11 overs. But thereafter their batsmen changed gears and launched an assault on Punjab bowlers. The charge was led by Akshay kolar and Urvesh Patel. The duo batted with such an authority that an incredible Vidharbha win looked a distinct possibility. Akshay Kolar hammered a swashbuckling century (110) and Urvesh Patel complimented with a sterling knock of 62. The match ended in a draw with Punjab logging 3 points and Vidarbha 1 point.
