By Vivek, Chandigarh, July 23: Saniya Arif of Chandigarh did it again by beating second seed Keerath Bhandal of Delhi in a thrilling encounter to move to the finals of the Junior (under 21) National Snooker Championship. The 78th National Billiards and Snooker Championship is being held at Geetha Bhawan, Llyods road, Chennai.
Saniya Arif, a student of Carmel Convent, Sector 9, Chandigarh finished Runners up in the Sub Jr. Snooker earlier. Never before any girl from North has been able to achieve this feat of finishing in top two in Junior Snooker. At the age of 16 she has already come close to the Title. In the Sr. Snooker event also, Saniya beat her opponent from Tamil Nadu and lost to Uma Devi in the league matches. She enters in the top 16 and shall be playing her pre-quarter.
