Chandigarh : 7 year old ,Ravneer Duggal, student of Class one of St Stephens School upset 17 year old Chandan Gulati 2-1 (23-43, 60-48, 56-46). Chandan is the semi-finalist in sub-junior snooker category in this championship. Ranveer is the youngest pool player in India, he has participated in pool Nationals in Ludhiana and Six-Red National Tournament in Chandigarh. Now he is the youngest player in the current billiards and snooker state championship being organized in Chandigarh. Ranveers father Sandeep Duggal has also been the Chandigarh State Champion for a long span of time. Owing to the active encouragement of the Principal Mr. Harold Carver St Stephens is one of the few schools that is promoting cue sports in the City. Cue sports will gain more popularity in case other schools also follow suit.
In junior snooker category Aseem beat Rishab Gupta 2-1 (42-50, 59-45, 49-39) and Ashish Nada beat Tanurag Gautam 2-0 (49-19, 44-33). Amit Verma beat Raman Koka 2-0 (60-40, 60-53) Rajat beat Rahul Gupta 2-0 (68-10, 65-18). In Sub-junior snooker Rajwinder beat Pulkit Sharma 2-0 (49-10, 59-39).
In Senior Snooker Category, Rajat Khaneja beat Arif Akhtar of Indian Oil 3-0 (84-15 with a break of 44, 74-26, 58-20).
