CHANDIGARH, NOV 23 : Resuming at their overnight score of 46 for 2 Baroda were all out at 250 in 71.4 overs in their first innings against Punjab on the second day of Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy Tournament at Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium in Patiala today.
Overnight not out batsman Sarthak Mundhva added one run before he got out lbw to Deepak Bansal at 6. Then Abhijeet Karambelkar joined Mrunal Devdhar and the duo stitched a partnership of 69 runs for the 6th wicket before Mrunal Devdhar was caught by Sharad Lumba off Jaskaran Singh for 35 off 96 balls inclusive of 5 boundaries.
At this stage Baroda were 142 for 6 in 37.3 overs. Then Abhijeet Karambelkar and Lukman Meriwala got together to stitch a partnership of 46 runs for the 9th wicket before Lukman Meriwala was caught by skipper and wicket keeper Gitansh Khera for 4. Abhijeet Karambelkar caught by Gitansh Khera off Deepak Bansal at the score of 118 off 135 balls inclusive of 17 boundaries and one huge six.
For Punjab Deepak Bansal (6 for 68), Jaskaran (2 for 49) and Amritpal Singh (2 for 79) were the main wicket takers. Punjab gained a 18-run first innings lead. Punjab were all out for 268 in their first innings.
In the 2nd innings Punjab were 58 for 1 in 20 overs at the close of 2nd day’s play. Manan Vohra not out at 20 off 59 balls inclusive of 3 boundaries and Amit Prashar 21 were at crease with 20 and 21, respectively.
