Chandigarh, December 4 – Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Mr. Anil Vij has said that online data of sportspersons and also of coaches posted in various stadia would be prepared. It will have all details about sportspersons trained by Coaches and their participation in games.
Mr. Vij was presiding over a state level executive committee meeting of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyaan Yojana organized here today.
He said that previous Congress Government had not prepared any record as per which it can be assessed how much sportspersons were trained by every Coach posted in these stadia. Besides, complete record of under training sportspersons would also be prepared. All information to this effect would be collected and made online so that everyone could be able to get information about any sportsperson of the state.
Mr. Vij said that record of sports persons getting scholarship under SPAT programme would also be maintained so that future schemes on this basis could be prepared. The Minister also directed to pay attention toward maintenance of sports complexes in the state.
He said that a proposal to construct 38 indoor stadia under Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyaan Yojana in the state have been forwarded to Union Government. After its approval, the same would immediately be taken up. It is expected to spend a sum of about Rs. One crore on every indoor stadia and 20 per cent expenditure for the same would be borne by the state government. The objective to construct these stadia was to promote sports in rural areas as well as to attract rural talent towards sports, he added.
Mr. Vij said that sports championships at block, district and state level to be organized under Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyaan Yojana. It is targeted to construct sports ground in every village in which atleast five games could be played.
Those present in the meeting included Additional Chief Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Dr. K.K. Khandelwal, Additional Chief Secretary Welfare of Schedule Castes and Backward Classes Mr. R.P. Chandra and other senior officers of the department.
