CHANDIGARH, MARCH 26 (Balbir Singh) More than 35 coaches/referees are likely to attend the first North Zone Kick Boxing seminar/clinic to be organised by
Chandigarh Kick Boxing Association under the patronage of Indian Association of Kick Boxing Organisation at Banyan Tree School in Sector 48-A here from April 1 to 4. Chief Indian coach and international referee Parduman will conduct the seminar/clinic.
According to CKBA president Karan Avtar Singh, IAS, men and women coaches/referees from Punjab, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and Rajasthan will attend the seminar/clinic. Details can be obtained from Mr B D Gandhi (mobile 9815777775).

SIX TEAMS FOR U-13 CRICKET: Six teams have staked their claim for the top honours in the Chandigarh Inter-Academy Cricket Tournament for Under-13 being organised by Desh Prem Azad Cricket Academy at St Stephen’s School ground in Sector 45 here from March 29. It will be a 30-over-a-side match. With a view to giving competition on a hard and bouncy wickets, the matches will be played on matting wicket, according to DPA Academy Director Dronacharya Desh Prem Azad.
The teams will be divided into two pools and top two teams from each pool will qualify for semi-finals. The cut-off date for eligibility is March 1, 1995.
The teams which have entered into the fray are: CCA-Guru Nanak Public School Academy-36, Sector 16 Cricket Stadium Academy, APJ Academy Kharar, Mohali Cricket Academy, Yadvindra Public School Academy Mohali, and Desh Prem Azad Academy-45.
VETERANS ATHLETIC MEET: The Veterans Amateur Athletic Association of Chandigarh will organise the State Veterans Championship in all age groups (men and women plus 35) on April 5 at Sector 7 Sports Complex. During the meet, the state team will be selected for the 29th National Veterans Athletics Championship to held at Thane from May 9 to 11.
