The first ever CGC Imperial Invitational NRI Golf Championship will be conducted at the Chandigarh Golf Club on 24th December. A total of 90 participants will tee off at 9am battling it out for the various exciting prizes. According to Capt. GS Ghuman, Chairman Tournaments at CGC “this inaugural championship is supported by CITCO and sponsored by Imperial Golf Estate and will be played on a Scramble format”. President of Chandigarh Golf Club BS Gill added “this NRI championship is unique. We have encouraged the families and relatives of NRI’S in India as well to play and participate in this championship making it a fun event for all. We want Chandigarh Golf Club to be on the golfing map of the world”. Sanam Singh who won a gold medal in the men’s doubles tennis event at the Asian Games at Guangzhou was present at the press conference to announce this inaugural event along with the management committee of the club. “This championship is a great initiative by Chandigarh Golf Club to promote golf tourism in chandigarh by giving NRI’S an opportunity to visit chandigarh primarily because of golf” said Ajay Gujral, Jt. Director of the Chandigarh Golf Club Academy. A gala prize distribution ceremony will be held at Chandigarh Golf Club in the evening.
