By Jagpreet Sandhu,Patiala, November 19 : The 2nd All India Horse Endurance Meet was held today at village Kaler Bhaini near Dakala district Patiala. The event was organized by Punjab Horse Sports and Breeders Society.
Khuspal Singh of Budha dal nihang of Boparai district Ludhiana won the 40 km horse Endurance in just 1hr and 24min. Neela ( Horse ) of Kushpal clocked 20 km first lap in 41 minutes and second in 43 minutes. The average speed throughout the course was an incredible 28.5 km per hour.
Raja Jahaz ( Horse ) of Kiranjit Singh of Mukatsar district stood second as its speed was 28 km per hour. The third position bagged by Sultan ( Horse ) of Harpinder Singh of Ropar district with the average speed of 27 KM. The forth position went to Bomb ( Horse ) of Hakam Singh with average speed of 26.5 km and the fifth position was held by Kundan Yadav of Gurukul, kurekshetra of Haryana.
Cash prize of Rs. One lakh was awarded to Kushpal Singh where as prize money of Rs. 51000, 21,000, 11,000 and 11,000 was given to others positions respectively.
The Horse Endurance meet was inaugurated by union Minister for state of external affairs Preneet Kaur. Speaking on the occasion she promised that they would introduce horse sports in government schools if their party would get chance to rule in Punjab after three months.
The prizes were distributed by the President of Punjab Olympics association and Raj Sabha MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa.
