The Current National Pool Champion Suniti Damani of West Bengal triumphed in an absorbing thriller on the last black ball against Neha Arora of Delhi. The gritty Arora fought till the very end but scummed to her celebrated opponent. The scores were 31-34, 39-08, 24-27, 27-12 and 39-27. In an identical match Arantxa Sanchaz of Maharastra beat a sprited Amee Kamani of Madhya Pradesh 23-37, 38-23, 35-38, 37-18 and 38-37. In the Six Red- National Snooker Championship held at Chandigarh Club, Top seed and Current National Champion Meenal Thakur of Mahrastra had an easy outing against Sounaya of Chandigarh with the score of 52-11, 46-1 and 41-0. She is a strong contender for the title.Chitra (Kar) had no difficulty in trouncing Sania Arif (Ch.) by 31-9-45-11, 42-23 while Ashwini Purnik (MP) defected Shurti Arora 40-1, 45-17-44-9 in a one sided match.
In the mens section Parteek Thakral (Mah) easily accounted for Vandit Kumar (PUN) by scores of 37-39, 28-25, 31-06, 28-17 and 35-22. Young Vandit is the son of Snooker ace Alok Kumar. Another match which went to full distance between Rahul Berlia (WB) and Vivek Nirodhi (HAR). The ding-dong battle for supremacy continued till the end when Berlia forged ahead 4-3 in the best of seven frame.
Young and diminutive child prodigy 7 years old Ranveer Duggal of Chandigarh grimly fought a losing battle against Mukhesh Kumar (PUNJAB) by 4-0. However, the match was closer then the scores suggest. Duggal lost on the black ball and thereafter could not regain his composer.
