Chandigarh, Saturday, February 18 : Mr. Rajan Kashyap, Patron-in-Chief and Mr. Gurvarinder Singh Sahota, Director Coaching, CLTA have come up with a novel scheme to popularize the game of tennis in the tri-city. During the course of ongoing ITF Men’s Futures Tennis Tournament. CLTA announced two special contests to be held on Tuesday, the 21st February, 2012 on the centre courts at 04.00 p.m. (1600 hrs). The first contest is titled Ace ’n’ Pace contest which in effect is a service speed test, in which each participant will be given 5 chances to serve and the service speed will be recorded by the electronic Speed Gun and the highest speed of the 5 serves will be considered while declaring the winners. The time given for the contest will be 50 seconds for each contestant. This contest is being organized to make the game of tennis more exciting and challenging. This is open to all the players in the tri-city under different age groups i.e. Boys under-14; under-18; Men Open; Girl’s under-16 and Veteran 55+ years and above.
The second contest is CLTA’s bulls eye contest for accuracy which is open to all the tennis coaches of the tri-city. There will be Prizes for the first; second and third places in each category. rdnd seed Kunal Anand (IND) in 3 sets 5-7, 6-3, 6-2.
