Chandigarh, 13 July, 2014, Choi Kwang Do – a yoga based scientifically designed and most effective martial art system in the world today held a special preview class at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh early in the morning. Choi Kwang Do (CKD) relies more on flexibility and fluidity of movement as opposed to the more rigid lines of some other martial arts. To achieve this it employs yoga-based stretching to develop the flexibility of practitioners. 20 practitioners with the age ranging from 6 to 40 years participated in the drills which included 7 females and 13 males.
“Most apt for practical and dynamic self defence, Choi Kwang Do is gender and age independent form of Martial Arts” emphasised, Master Bikram S Thapa, 5th Degree Black Belt, USA and Chairman of Choi Kwang Do Federation of India.”In today’s environment where we get to hear lifestyle related issues and personal safety issues, we feel it’s imperative for disciplined approach under CKD where we not only imbibe the training on Martial arts but also simulate optimum health and fitness, impact on personality development, enhance self confidence and ensure self defence” Master Bikram S Thapa added.
CKD promotes non violent resolution to conflicts, practical solutions to Cardiovascular improvement and enjoyable methods of exercise. “Every individual has a role to play in making safer and healthier society” he concluded.
In Tricity CKD has it’s head office and training centre in Sector 16, Panchkula, while it also has training centres in Peer Muchalla near sector 20, Panchkula, in Sushma Urban Plaza in Dhakoli, Zirakpur and has two centres in Chandigarh at YMCA, Sec 11 and Strawberry Fields World School, sector 26.
