By Jagpreet Sandhu, Chandigarh, Feburary 3 : 49th National Artistic & Inline Roller Hockey Skating Championship at KBDAV-7 kicked off today. Nearly 500 skaters and 20 teams from different states of India are participating in this mega event.
Boys and Girls in the age groups of 8 to 10 years, 10 to 12 years, 12 to 14 years, 14 to 16 years and above 16 years are participating in free dance, inline skating, pair skating, compulsory dance, show dance, figures and free skating in various artistic events. Teams and skaters from Pondicherry, Kerala, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, J&K, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttrakhand are present in school to participate in various events.
The School authorities have made arrangements for food, boarding and lodging of the players, coaches and technical officials. Skating officials from Roller Skating Federation of India are also present in school to conduct the matches in judicious and fair manner.
On the first day during the preliminary round of the Artistic Skating for the long programme events like Inline Free, Pair Skating and Free Skating were held. The championship will continue up to 7th February.
