12 Dec : An excellent batting display by India all-rounder and birthday boy Yuvraj Singh (60) took India to a comprehensive 6-wicket victory in 2nd T20 match against Sri Lanka in Mohali asIndia level series 1-1.
Chasing a stiff target of 207, India were given a rollicking start by the opening duo of Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag.India have scored 200 runs for the loss of three wickets when reports last came in.Riding on a brilliant half century from Kumar Sangakkara and a late burst from Angelo Mathews help Sri Lanka set a 207 run target for India in the second Twenty20 International in Mohali.
India drew the first blood in the 2nd over when Ishant Sharma castled Tilakaratne Dilshan.Skipper Sangakkara along Jayasuriya smashed the bowlers all over the park.
Both stitched together 81 run partnership for the second wicket.Jayasuriya made 31 before he was trapped lbw by Yusuf Pathan.After a series of dropped catches, India managed to pick the sixth wicket of Jayasinghe.
This was Yuvraj’s third wicket of the match.Kaushalaya Weeraratne was the next to go. He was run out.Angelo Mathews then gave a late burst to finish off the innings and was unbeaten on 26 runs.
