The Office Bearers and Senior Functionaries of Chandigarh Business Council (Regd), an Apex Traders Body Chandigarh, consisting of Shri Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, Sr. Vice President, LC Arora and JPS Kalra, General Secretaries, called on Shri Naresh Dubey, Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner, UT, to discuss Traders Problems relating to Sales Tax/VAT.
Various issues i.e. shortage of ‘C’ Forms, Deemed Assessment before introduction of VAT, Assessment under VAT Act were put forward before the AETC and after thorough discussion it was conveyed that form ‘C’ will be ONLINE very shortly. Few cases for assessment of CST and VAT, where discrepancies were noticed , have been selected for assessment and put on NET for information of registered VAT dealers.
A special demand was raised for settlement and final assessment of all pending ST Return before VAT under DEEMED ASSESSMENT scheme where unconditional assessment be made after calculation of Deemed Assessment amount .
The issue of submission of Form ‘D’ was discussed with Annual Return VAT 20 which is not needed now as there is no rebated sale to Government after introduction of VAT. In fact there are only two slabs of VAT and no concession is allowed to Government and hence the condition of Form ‘D’ be waived off for transactions after 15.12.2005.
We appreciate the concern shown by the Department on our genuine demands of withdrawal of Form’D’ which has no relevance under the present rules.
