Theatre Age is immensely thrilled to announce that all their students who had appeared for the CBSE Class X exams session 2014-15 have successfully cleared it with flying colors. This is a tremendous achievement and we are very proud of on all of them.
The students and their CGPA are as follows : KAMAL 8.4, PANKAJ 7.6, SAMEER 7.4,KARAN 6.8
Kamal, who has delighted us with greater than 80% marks, is originally from Uttarkhand. He comes from an impoverished background. In order that he could have better opportunities for education, his parents sent him to his uncle in Chandigarh. Kamal has been a student of Theatre Age since the last 3 years. A quiet and dedicated boy, he is very focused on his studies.
Pankaj is also originally from Uttarakhand. His father works as a waiter in a small restaurant and his mother works as a help in someone’s house. Pankaj has been coming to Theatre Age since the last four years and has been doing very well in his education and also in the other extra-curricular activities like dancing and drama. Both, Kamal and Pankaj are now desirous of doing their graduation in non-medical and eventually becoming army officers and serving their nation.
Like all the other students here, Sameer also comes from a family living below the poverty line. His father works as a small time electrical repairman. His ambition in life is to become a doctor, preferably in the armed forces. Sameer has been coming to Theatre Age since the last four years and is actively involved in every aspect of the NGO’s functioning. Along with the other older students, these students also teach the younger ones at night after completing their own studies.
Karan Sharma’s father abandoned his two siblings and Karan when he was just a few years old. His mother took a job as a manual labourer in a factory to support her three children. Given their financial situation, it was impossible for her to even dream about educating her children if it had not been for Theatre Age. Today, both his brother in Class XII and Karan in Class X, have fulfilled the dreams of their mother and all of us at Theatre Age.
