CHANDIGARH, AUG 30 : Top seeded Indian pair of N.Sriram Balaji and Ranjeet Virali-Murugesan shattered the aspirations of Egyptian duo of Tarek El Esawy and Karim-Mohamed Maamoun whom they beat by 6-1, 7-5 in the doubles quarter-final match in the $ 10,000 ITF Men’s Futures Tennis Tournament in Egypt today.
The formidable Indian pair will now take on third seeded Mohamed Adnaoui (Mar) and Julian Turosienski (Pol) in the semi-final clash. Adnaoui-Turosienski Ramy Kamal Aita (Egy) and Mostafa Mohamed Hatem (Egy) 6-3, 6-3 in another doubles quarter-final match.
Balaji and Ranjeet also entered the singles quarter-final round. Second seeded Sriram Balaji got the better of Mohamed Adnaoui (Mar) by 7-6 (6), 6-3 in a well-contested singles second round match. Ranjeet Virali-Murugesan, seeded fourth accounted for Nizar Belmati (Mar) in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
