11 Sep :Projects and Development India Limited (PDIL), an Engineering and Consultancy organization under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers presented the maiden dividend cheque for Rs. 1.73 crores to the Minister for Chemicals, Fertilisers and Steel Shri Ram Vilas Paswan here today.
Speaking on the occasion the Minister said that PDIL has earned a profit above Rs.12 crore in the year 2007-08 registering a turnover of Rs. 54.72 crore as compared to Rs. 46.26 crore in the previous year. He said this excellent performance could be possible due to continuous efforts made by the company in getting jobs from diversified sectors as well as strengthening its business position in the core fertilizer sector. PDIL is expected to play major role in the further development of fertilizer industry in view of announcement of the new urea pricing policy that will quicken the revival of various closed fertiliser units at Barauni, Sindri, Durgapur, Gorakhpur, Haldia, Ramagundam and Talcher. The company is also targeting jobs abroad in the fertilizer sector.
