CHANDIGARH, Nov 22 : An unbeaten 93 runs second wicket partnership between Karan Sharma (59, 7x4s, 2x6s) and Mansab Gill (40, 6x4s) placed Punjab in a strong position against Odhisa on the first day of the Cooch Behar Group C League match at the Dhruv Pandove Stadium in Patiala today.
At close of day’s play, Punjab scored 101 for 1 in their first innings in reply to Odhisa’s 165 all out in 61.2 overs.
After losing opener Sanvir Singh (1) at 8 in two overs, Karan Sharma and Mansab Gill took over the control of the match and they have so far realised 93 runs in an unbroken second wicket partnership.
Earlier, Odhisa were restricted by Punjab bowlers Sukhwinder Singh (5 for 53) and Karan Bharvan (3 for 39). Rajesh Dhuper (33), Suman Mohanty (42), Dibyajyoti Pradhan (25) and Ashutosh Das (38) were Odhisa’s main scorers.
