2 Mar : I’m very excited to be playing a tournament at my home course after a gap of almost 10 years. It’s a different feeling to play in front of your home crowd.
I decided to play this event as I want to give my maximum support to PGTI since it is doing a fantastic job for the development of professional golf in India. The PGTI’s efforts have led to improvement in the standards of Indian professional golf with every passing season.
We have a very strong field this week with the likes of SSP Chowrasia and Gaganjeet Bhullar playing here. It promises to be a highly competitive tournament.
I would take this opportunity to congratulate SSP Chowrasia for his fabulous win at the Avantha Masters last month. It’s an incredible achievement to post two wins on the European Tour. He has worked very hard on his game. The fact that he did not lose hope even after going through a long rough patch, speaks volumes about the strength of his character.
Even though I haven’t totally recovered from my back injury as yet, I’m feeling much better at this stage thanks to yoga and physiotherapy. I think I should be fully fit by the second week of March when I head to Sicily for the next event on the European Tour.
